Blountstown, Florida , Yon At the age of five years moved with his parents to a farm inJackson County, Florida .He attended rural schools, and was graduated from Lanier Southern Business College,Macon, Georgia , in 1903.He returned toBlountstown, Florida , the same year and engaged in mercantile pursuits until 1906.He engaged as a traveling salesman atTallahassee, Florida from 1906 to 1927.He served as delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1920.Yon was elected as a Democrat to the Seventieth, Seventy-first, and Seventy-second Congresses (
March 4 ,1927 -March 3 ,1933 ).He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1932.He served as special and commercial agent in the Bureau of Foreign and Domestic Commerce, United States Department ofCommerce, Washington , D.C. from 1933 to 1940.He served as assistant investigator, Division of Investigation, General Accounting Office, from 1941 until his retirement in January 1946.He engaged in development and sale of his Florida real estate holdings after retirement.He died inTallahassee, Florida ,February 16 ,1971 .He was interred in Oakland Cemetery.References
