Thomas J. Creamer

Thomas James Creamer (May 26, 1843 - August 4, 1914) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born near Garadice Lake, Ireland, Creamer Immigrated to the United States and took up his residence in New York City.He attended the public schools. Shipping clerk in a dry-goods house in 1860.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar and practiced.He served as member of the State assembly 1865-1867.He served in the State senate 1868-1871. City tax commissioner for five years. Acted as counsel for State commissions to revise the tax laws.

Creamer was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-third Congress (March 4, 1873-March 3, 1875).He was not a candidate for renomination in 1874.

Creamer was elected to the Fifty-seventh Congress (March 4, 1901-March 3, 1903).He was not a candidate for renomination in 1902.He resumed the practice of law in New York City, and died there August 4, 1914.He was interred in Greenwood Cemetery.
