Justin Dwinell

Justin Dwinell (October 28, 1785 - September 17, 1850) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Shaftsbury, Vermont, Dwinell attended a local private school and Williams College.He was graduated from Yale College in 1808.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1811 and commenced practice in Cazenovia, New York, the same year.He served as member of the State assembly in 1821 and 1822.

Dwinell was elected as a Crawford Democratic-Republican to the Eighteenth Congress (March 4, 1823-March 3, 1825).He was not a candidate for renomination.He resumed the practice of law.He served as judge of the common pleas court of Madison County, New York from 1828 to 1833.He served as district attorney of Madison County 1837-1845.He died in Cazenovia, New York, September 17, 1850.He was interred in Evergreen Cemetery.
