Staten Island, New York onOctober 8 1773 , Tyson attended the common schools. He moved to Richmond, New York. He studied law, was admitted to the bar, and practiced law. He became Supervisor of the town of Castletown, Richmond County from 1811 to 1821. He served as judge of Richmond County 1822 - 1840.Tyson was elected as a Crawford Democratic-Republican to the
18th United States Congress (March 4 1823 -March 3 1825 ). He served as member of theNew York State Senate in 1828. He died in Staten Island, New York onJuly 16 1848 . He was interred in the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church Cemetery,Port Richmond, Staten Island , New York.External links
