George R. Malby

George Roland Malby (September 16, 1857 Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York - July 5, 1912 New York City) was am American politician who served as United States Representative from New York.

Life

He attended Canton Union School and St. Lawrence University. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1881, and commenced the practice of law in Ogdensburg, New York.

Malby was the Justice of the Peace of Oswegatchie, New York.

He was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1890 to 1895, and was the leader of his party in the Assembly in 1893 and Speaker in 1894. From 1895 to 1907 he was a member of the New York State Senate.

Malby was elected as a Republican to the Sixtieth, Sixty-first and Sixty-second United States Congresses and served from March 4, 1907, until his death.

He was buried at Ogdensburg Cemetery in Ogdensburg, N.Y.
