Mansfield, Connecticut , Bicknell attended the public schools.He moved toMorrisville, New York , in 1808.He served in the War of 1812.He served as member of the State assembly in 1812.He served in the State senate 1814-1818.He served as clerk ofMadison County, New York from 1821 to 1825.He was editor of the Madison Observer.Bicknell was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-fifth Congress (
March 4 ,1837 -March 3 ,1839 ).He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1838 to the Twenty-sixth Congress.He died inMorrisville, New York ,September 15 ,1841 .He was interred in Morrisville Rural Cemetery.References
