Earl Hogan

Earl Lee Hogan (born March 13, 1920) is a U.S. Representative from Indiana.

Born in Hope, Indiana, Hogan attended the public schools of Burney.He also attended Indiana University and the University of Kentucky.He served from 1940 to 1945 in the Air Force as a bombardier on a B-17. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, and Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters. Deputy sheriff of Bartholomew County, Indiana from 1946 to 1950 and sheriff 1950-1958.

Hogan was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-sixth Congress (January 3, 1959-January 3, 1961).He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1960 to the Eighty-seventh Congress.He served as assistant to administrator, Farmers Home Administration, 1961.He served as assistant to administrator, Rural Electric Administration from 1961 to 1962. Midwest field representative, Office of Rural Areas Development from 1962 to 1966. Rural development specialist from 1966 to 1970, special projects representative from 1971 to 1975, chief of business and industrial loan division from 1975 to 1980, all in Farmers Home Administration. Secretary, Indiana State Rural Development Committee from 1966 to 1980.He served as chairman of the State advisory board, Indiana Green Thumb, Inc. from 1975 to 1982.He owns and operates a farm.He is a resident of Naples, Florida, and Columbus, Indiana.
