Wapello, Iowa , Jamieson attended the common schools and theUniversity of Iowa at Iowa City .He studied law at theNational University Law School,Washington, D.C. . Edited and published the Ida Grove Pioneer in 1893 and 1894, the Columbus Junction Gazette 1899-1901, the Shenandoah World 1901-1916, and was also editor of the Hamburg Democrat.He served as member of the State senate fromJanuary 1 ,1907 , untilMarch 3 ,1909 , when he resigned to enter Congress.Jamieson was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-first Congress (
March 4 ,1909 -March 3 ,1911 ).He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1910.He resumed newspaper activities inShenandoah, Iowa . Postmaster of Shenandoah fromMay 29 ,1915 , untilSeptember 1 ,1916 , when he resigned.He served as assistant treasurer of theDemocratic National Committee in 1916 and its director of finance 1917-1920.He served as delegate at large to the Democratic National Convention in 1920.He engaged in the practice of law inWashington, D.C. .He was editor of the Window Seat, a weekly syndicate letter for country newspapers, from 1925 until his death inWashington, D.C. ,November 18 ,1949 .He was interred in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.References
