August 28 ,1845 -February 25 ,1929 ) was a U.S. Representative fromIowa .Born in
Bakerstown, Pennsylvania , Flick moved with his parents toWapello County, Iowa , in 1852 and to Taylor County in 1857.He attended the common schools. Enlisted in Company K,Fourth Regiment, Iowa Volunteer Infantry, as a private soldier and served fromApril 3 ,1862 , toSeptember 4 ,1864 . Recorder of Taylor County in 1869 and 1870.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1870 and commenced practice inBedford, Iowa .He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1878 and 1879.He served as district attorney of the third judicial district of Iowa 1880-1886.Flick was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-first and Fifty-second Congresses (
March 4 ,1889 -March 3 ,1893 ).He was not a candidate for renomination in 1892 to the Fifty-third Congress.He resumed the practice of his profession inBedford, Iowa , until his death there onFebruary 25 ,1929 .He was interred in Bedford Cemetery.References
