Belvidere, New York , Hull moved with his parents toCedar Rapids, Iowa , in 1873.He attended the grammar and high schools.He was employed as a clerk and bookkeeper for a grain company.He moved toPalo, Iowa , in 1883, and toWilliamsburg, Iowa , in 1884 and engaged in the grain business.He also engaged in the manufacture of brick and tile.He served as president of the Williamsburg Telephone Co.. Alderman of Williamsburg 1887-1889.He served as mayor 1889-1901. Postmaster 1901-1914.He served as president of the Williamsburg Fair Association 1900-1915.Hull was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-fourth and to the four succeeding Congresses (
March 4 ,1915 -March 3 ,1925 ).He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1924.He was appointed by President Coolidge onMay 15 ,1925 , as Commissioner General of Immigration and served until 1933 when he retired.He continued to reside inWashington, D.C. , until his death thereJanuary 16 ,1938 .He was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery,Williamsburg, Iowa .References
