Pietro Germi in 1949 and appears in Germi'sIn nome della legge , a film for which he wonNastro d'Argento as Best Supporting Actor. He became Germi's favourite actor, working together with him inPath of Hope (1950),The Railroad Man (1956),The Facts of Murder (1959),Alfredo, Alfredo (1972) and most notablySeduced and Abandoned in 1964. That film earned him Best Actor awards at theCannes Film Festival and theNastro d'Argento the following year.He acted in
