Dag Luther Gooch (born June 10, 1970, Chicago, Illinois) is a video artist, writer and musician. He is the founding member of the band Otasco. He is also a frequent contributor to Chunklet (magazine) and has made several videos for the magazine as well. In 2006 he moved to Los Angeles, California.
Music
Gooch has been in several bands in Baton Rouge, Louisiana: Otasco, Midbang Lounge, Nutmeg, Megafriends, Training Brah and Taktschläge. In most of these he sang and played guitar, but in some cases bass and drums. He is not well remembered for his technical ability on any of these instruments. The band Nutmeg (whose drummer Daniel Black would eventually play guitar in The Oranges Band) released a few singles none of which featured Gooch on bass. The Midbang Lounge (whose lead guitarist was Andrew Black, brother of Daniel Black) put out one CD on Black's Bent label The Constant Dripping Sounds of The Midbang Lounge. Otasco has released two discs on Fred Weaver's Apocalypse The Apocalypse: This Product is Extremely Delicious and Hubris.
