- FedStat
FedStat is a program invented by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to measure the success of federal government departments in accomplishing their mission. FedStat is modeled after the successful CompStat program that Mayor Giuliani employed to reduce crime in New York City.
CompStat is a three-pronged approach to tackling three of the major issues facing America, specifically the illegal immigration problem, terrorist threats, and government inefficiency. The three branches of the program to tackle these problems are BorderStat, TerrorStat, and GAPStat (Government Accountability Program Stat).
Said Giuliani in a May 31, 2007 press conference: "You've got to figure out what an agency is supposed to achieve, and then you have to figure out the measurement -- the ultimate measurement of it -- and then you have to figure out the measurements that come before it that predict it.” [http://www.joinrudy2008.com/news/pr/255/]
