Harry Sandager

Harry Sandager (April 12, 1887 - December 24, 1955) was a U.S. Representative from Rhode Island.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Sandager attended the public schools at Cranston, Rhode Island, and graduated from Georgetown University.He was a newspaper reporter from 1905-1918 and a secretary to Congressman Walter R. Stiness from 1918-1922. He graduated from George Washington University in 1922.

After his graduation, he returned to Providence, Rhode Island, and served as an office executive from 1922-1931 before being elected as member of the State house of representatives in 1928, serving until 1936.

Sandager was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth Congress (January 3, 1939-January 3, 1941).He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1940 to the Seventy-seventh Congress and for election in 1942 to the Seventy-eighth Congress.He resumed the automobile business until his death.He served as member of the Republican National Committee 1941-1944.He died in Cranston, Rhode Island, December 24, 1955.He was interred in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
