April 12 ,1887 -December 24 ,1955 ) was a U.S. Representative fromRhode Island .Born in
Providence, Rhode Island , Sandager attended the public schools atCranston, Rhode Island , and graduated fromGeorgetown University .He was a newspaper reporter from 1905-1918 and a secretary to CongressmanWalter R. Stiness from 1918-1922. He graduated fromGeorge Washington University in 1922.After his graduation, he returned to
Providence, Rhode Island , and served as an office executive from 1922-1931 before being elected as member of the State house of representatives in 1928, serving until 1936.Sandager was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth Congress (
January 3 ,1939 -January 3 ,1941 ).He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1940 to the Seventy-seventh Congress and for election in 1942 to the Seventy-eighth Congress.He resumed the automobile business until his death.He served as member of theRepublican National Committee 1941-1944.He died inCranston, Rhode Island ,December 24 ,1955 .He was interred in St. Francis Cemetery,Pawtucket, Rhode Island .ource
