Frederick G. Fleetwood

Frederick Gleed Fleetwood (September 27, 1868 - January 28, 1938) was a U.S. Representative from Vermont.

Born in St. Johnsbury, Caledonia County, Vermont, Fleetwood attended the common schools of St. Johnsbury, and was graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1886.He also attended the University of Vermont at Burlington and was graduated from Harvard University in 1891. Secretary of the commission on revision of Vermont statutes in 1893 and 1894.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Morrisville, Vermont, in 1894.He served as prosecuting attorney for Lamoille County 1896-1898. Town clerk and treasurer of Morrisville, Vermont from 1896 to 1900.He served as member of the State house of representatives 1900-1902. Secretary of state and insurance commissioner of Vermont 1902-1908. Again secretary of state 1917-1919.

Fleetwood was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1923-March 3, 1925).He was not a candidate for renomination in 1924.He resumed the practice of law.He also engaged in banking.He died in Morrisville, Vermont, January 28, 1938.He was interred in Pleasant View Cemetery.
