Robert Benchley Society Award for Humor

Robert Benchley Society Award for Humor

The Robert Benchley Society Award for Humor is given annually by the Robert Benchley Society in honor of the great American humorist Robert Benchley, a member of the famed Algonquin Round Table. The Robert Benchley Society is headquartered in Boston, Mass. and was founded in 2003.

The first writing competition sponsored by the Society was called the "Robert Benchley Society/Espree Magazine 2005 Humor Writing Competition" [http://web.archive.org/web/20060711050056/www.robertbenchley.org/news/index.htm] , and in years since, the award for the annual contest has been called the Robert Benchley Society Award for Humor. The contest is an open submission contest; anyone can present an entry for a nominal processing fee.
