Ahmed Fahmie

Ahmed Fahmie (born 20 April 1987) is a Singaporean footballer who plays for S.League team, Tampines Rovers FC as a striker.

Football career

Fahmie started playing for Tampines Rovers FC in the Prime League. Impressive displays earned him a starting place in the AFC Cup away defeat against Osotsapa FC.

In 2005, he played for the Singapore Under-18 side which won the Lion City Cup after defeating Hong Kong Under-18 4-1.

Fahmie was the top-scorer in the Prime League in the 2006–07 season and currently leads the top scorer chart for the 2007–08 prime league season.

He made headlines in the local football fraternity when he took over the number 9 shirt left by Noh Alam Shah who was banned for a seven months following an on-pitch bust up.

Fahmie then announced his arrival in the S.League when he scored a few vital goals for Tampines, most notably, a last minute equaliser against Woodlands Wellington FC.

As of May 2008, he has been enlisted for National Service with the army for next two years. Thus, he will not be playing in the S.League unless he gets special permissions.
