Catherine Deveny (born 1968) is a
comedy writer, comedienne, and a regular TV and sometimes controversial opinion columnist inthe Age newspaper since 2001. She also writes for other Australian and overseas publications. She has performed on most Australian TV networks, Australian premier comedy venues and on radio. She has been described as a left-wingAndrew Bolt .Deveny's television work has included Network Seven's

Her latest book is a collection of her columns, titled "Say when", published by Black Inc. She is also the author of "Rank and smelly", "Babies, bellies and blundstones", "It's Not My Fault They Print Them" and "Our New Baby".
