Rick Schwartz

Rick Schwartz is an independent producer and a former senior vice president of production at Harvey and Bob Weinstein’s Miramax Films. He was a producer of director Martin Scorsese’s films "Gangs of New York", starring Leonardo DiCaprio; "The Aviator", also starring DiCaprio; and "The Departed", starring DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, and Jack Nicholson; Robert Benson’s adaptation of Philip Roth’s "The Human Stain", starring Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins; Alejandro Amenabar’s "The Others", also starring Nicole Kidman; Giuseppe Tornatore’s "Malèna", starring Monica Belluci; and Jez Butterworth’s "Birthday Girl", starring Kidman.

In 2008, Schwartz announced the launch of his new film company, Overnight Productions. The first film to be released under the new banner is The Lucky Ones, directed by Neil Burger and starring Rachel McAdams, Tim Robbins and Michael Pena. The film had its world premiere at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival. Overnight is currently in post production on the new Lindsay Lohan comedy, Labor Pains.

Future projects include the remake of the award winning, Tzameti as well as a thriller called Southbound, to be directed by Phillip Noyce and starring Eva Mendes. Schwartz has been able to develop strong relationships with leading talent, resulting in partnership with Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek. With Nicole Kidman, Schwartz is producing "The Bachelorette Party" and "Headhunters" for Twentieth Century Fox Films and "The Quality of Life Report" for Warner Bros.. With Salma Hayek he is producing "La Banda", a Spanish language romantic comedy.
