Rick Schwartz is an independent producer and a former senior vice president of production at Harvey and
Bob Weinstein ’s Miramax Films. He was a producer of directorMartin Scorsese ’s films "Gangs of New York ", starringLeonardo DiCaprio ; "The Aviator ", also starring DiCaprio; and "The Departed ", starring DiCaprio,Matt Damon ,Mark Wahlberg , andJack Nicholson ;Robert Benson ’s adaptation ofPhilip Roth ’s "The Human Stain ", starringNicole Kidman andAnthony Hopkins ;Alejandro Amenabar ’s "The Others ", also starring Nicole Kidman;Giuseppe Tornatore ’s "Malèna ", starringMonica Belluci ; andJez Butterworth ’s "Birthday Girl ", starring Kidman.In 2008, Schwartz announced the launch of his new film company, Overnight Productions. The first film to be released under the new banner is The Lucky Ones, directed by Neil Burger and starring Rachel McAdams, Tim Robbins and Michael Pena. The film had its world premiere at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival. Overnight is currently in post production on the new Lindsay Lohan comedy, Labor Pains.
Future projects include the remake of the award winning, Tzameti as well as a thriller called Southbound, to be directed by Phillip Noyce and starring Eva Mendes. Schwartz has been able to develop strong relationships with leading talent, resulting in partnership with Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek. With Nicole Kidman, Schwartz is producing "
