- Heinrich Wullschlägel
Heinrich Rudolf Wullschlägel was a Dutch-German
bishop ,botanist andtranslator . (February 1 ,1805 , Sarepta, [http://www.russianow.ru/Object.aspx?geo_id=66&ct_id=3307] Russia –March 29 ,1864 , Berthelsdorf, Germany.) He received his primary education inNiesky , Saxony, his theological instruction inGnadenfeld ,Silesia , spent the years 1844-47 onAntigua , 1847-49 inJamaica , and 1849-1855 inParamaribo ,Surinam as head of the Mission of the Unitas Fratrum - The Moravian Church. Made extensive botanical collections and wrote a dictionary of the Creole language there, as well as on a trip to theMosquito Coast . He entered the directorate of theMoravian Church in Berthelsdorf nearHerrnhut in 1855 and became it's bishop in 1857.
