Brodie Henderson (born
December 12 ,1983 inNorth Vancouver, British Columbia ) is a professional rugby union player who has representedCanada and Canada Sevens. Henderson has played professional rugby forBay of Plenty inNew Zealand (05/06)andPertemps Bees (06/07)in English National Division 1. Before embarking on a career in rugby Henderson represented Canada U21 at soccer and played junior professional ice hockey. He recently competed in both theHong Kong andLondon Sevens tournaments with Canada and scored two tries on the opening day of the London event. Henderson is positioned at winger.International Record
Henderson currently has 3 full caps for Canada and has scored 2 tries, including one on his debut versus
Japan . He also is an experienced rugby sevens international having toured theIRB Sevens world circuit with the Canadian national team for the last three seasons. Before turning to rugby as a career Henderson played international soccer for Canada's U21 team.Club Rugby
Henderson started his rugby career playing for his local team Chilliwack Blues in
Vancouver before moving semi-pro side Abbotsford within just a few months of him starting the game. From there he was called up to the Canada Sevens squad and left Abbotsford for Bay of Plenty in New Zealand. At the start of the 06/07 season he was spotted by English side Pertemps Bees and made his debut as a substitute versusSedgley Park . Henderson then left Pertemps Bees before the end of the year due to family matters after scoring just 3 tries and is currently not signed to a club for 07/08 season, although Pertemps Bees head coach Steve Williams commented that he could see no reason why Henderson wouldn't return, however this was not to be the case and Henderson was not part of the Pertemps Bees squad for 07/08.Sources
