Apostol Petkov or "the Sun of Enije Vardar" (May 6, 1869, Boymitsa , today Greece - August 2, 1911, Giannitsa, today Greece) was a Bulgarian revolutionary and one of the leaders of the revolutionary movement in Aegean Macedonia [ [http://www.promacedonia.org/obm2/16a.html Христо Силянов. He is considered ethnic Macedonian in the Republic of Macedonia. He was a leading "komitaji" in the bands of the Bulgarian Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Committees and took part in the battles against the Ottoman authorities as well before the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising as after it. Later, he was one of the organizers of the military struggle against the Greeks in Macedonia - still under Ottoman rule, but with both sides trying to establish their position in the area towards that rule's impending end. [Πηνελόπη Δέλτα. "Στα μυστικά του Βάλτου", 1937.] Petkov was killed, under unclear circumstances, in battle against Turkish gendarmes on August 2, 1911. [Мария Атанасова.
