His work has garnered many awards nationally, including the Paul B. Remmey award at the prestigious American Watercolor Society 138th international exhibition inNew York City . His paintings have been exhibited inmuseum s throughout theUnited States , including the Elmhurst Art Museum inIllinois and the Springfield Art Museum inMissouri . His watercolor paintings have also been featured in national publications including The Artist's magazine. Joseph is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society.Life
Joseph Santos was born in
Los Angeles , CA, where he lived until the age of 5 when his family moved to EasternWashington . After graduating fromPasco High School (Pasco, Washington ), Joseph attendedGolden West College in Southern California (1984-1986) where he studied art technique and design while also working in his fathers art studio. He started working exclusively inwatercolor in the late 80's and in 1999 started to paint the steel and industrial subjects that he is known for.
