The fourth season of the "Bleach" anime series is named The Bount arc. The episodes are directed by Noriyuki Abe and produced by TV Tokyo, Dentsu, and Studio Pierrot.cite web|url=http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4240|title=Bleach (TV)|publisher=Anime News Network|accessdate=2008-09-25] This season, along with season five, is not an adaptation of the "Bleach" manga by Tite Kubo; the plot focuses on the introduction of the Bount, a race of humans that consume human souls to extend their lives, and their conflicts with Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies.

Five pieces of theme music are used for the episodes: two opening themes and three ending themes. The opening theme for the first eleven episodes is nihongo|"One Lone Flower"|一輪の花|Ichirin no Hana by High and Mighty Color; the rest of the episodes use "TONIGHT, TONIGHT, TONIGHT" by Beat Crusaders. The first ending theme is nihongo|"My Pace"|マイペース by SunSet Swish, switching at episode 75 to "Hanabi" by Ikimonogakari and again at episode 87 to "MOVIN!!" by Takacha.
