Fu'an (Chinese: 福安市
Pinyin : fú'ān Shì) is a county-level city located in the northeast of theFujian province,People's Republic of China . It is located on the east bank of the Jiulong river. Fu'an is surrounded by hills and the seawaters. It covers an area of 67.44 km². Fu'an County was created in 1245 AD in the Southern Song Dynasty. In November 1989, it was elevated to a city at county level and it has jurisdiction over 11 towns, 7 villages and 3 neighborhood offices.
