Fu'an

Fu'an (Chinese: 福安市 Pinyin: fú'ān Shì) is a county-level city located in the northeast of the Fujian province, People's Republic of China. It is located on the east bank of the Jiulong river. Fu'an is located in Ningde Prefecture Level City. The population of Fu'an stands at 597 000 residents. Since it is near the border of Zhejiang province, the state road No.104 and Xiaopu road intersect it. Fu'an is known for the Saiqi Harbor (or Baima Harbor). History

Fu'an is surrounded by hills and the seawaters. It covers an area of 67.44 km². Fu'an County was created in 1245 AD in the Southern Song Dynasty. In November 1989, it was elevated to a city at county level and it has jurisdiction over 11 towns, 7 villages and 3 neighborhood offices.
