The Obvious Identity was the first and only album released by Cardiac Arrest, who later became Cardiacs. It was released solely on cassette and was only sold at concerts. It is one of the rarest Cardiac Arrest/Cardiacs releases.

Of interest, the band used the name The Obvious Identity for a very short time before they became Cardiacs.
