History

* 1914 - The station opens as a station of Osaka Electric Tramway
* 1941 - OET merges with Sankyu Electric Express Railway and because a station of Kansai Electric Express Railway
* 1944 - Becomes a station of Kintetsu
* 1948 - Because of a brake failure of a train in the Ikoma tunnel, the train crashes with another one in this station, killing 49.
* 2007 - Starts using PiTaPa
