JML Direct TV launch/New eeZee tv venture
JML Direct TV originally launched back in 2003 as JML Direct on Sky 664. Soon after, due to various EPG reshuffles, it ended up on its current number of 657. On 1 March 2005, the channel teamed up with Kleeneeze to create eeZee tv. eeZee tv showed a mix of JML and Kleeneeze products ranging from Homewares to Beauty, using a live "Buy It Now" format, similar to other UK shopping channels, such as QVC and Ideal World. But in late 2006, due to a cutback of live broadcasting and products, Kleeneeze pulled out and eeZee tv was no more. JML regained the EPG slot again and rebranded it back to JML Direct TV. Since then, it has continued to show various JML products using ex-eeZee tv presenters and studios for pre-recorded JML infomercials.
iBuy closure and two new JML EPG slots
After the closure of HSN's UK auction channels iBuy and iBuy2 in late 2006, JML secured a deal with HSN to take over their old, prime EPG slots, top of the Shopping EPG on 631 and 632 (next to QVC). Then, at 12.00 am on
January 1 , 2007, JML launched JML Direct TV on 631 and American-themed Infomercial channel Shop Now TV on 632 and at the same time their current channel JML Direct TV was shortened to JML Extra. Both JML channels showed more JML products around the clock 24/7, with Shop Now TV showing various "around the world products" 24/7.Vector Direct and two more JML EPG slots
On 23 December 2007, it was announced on the Shopping Telly website that Vector Direct had decided to go into voluntary liquidation. This caused their two EPG slots on 652 and 656 to go up for sale. Then, on 27 December 2007, just four days after announcing their voluntary liquidation, it was announced that JML had successfully purchased the two slots. In nearly a year, JML grew from a one-channel operation to five. In 2008, all the JML and Vector Channels were rebranded to reflect these changes. 631 was rebranded to JML, 632 dropped the American Infomercials and was transformed into JML Lifestyle, 652 changed from Vector 24/7 to JML Choice, 656 became JML Innovation and JML Extra became JML Solutions on 657.
To this day, they continue to show a mix of JML branded products and other innovative products around the clock.
21st July EPG reshuffle
On 21 July 2008, as part of a complete EPG reshuffle of shopping channels on Sky, the majority of chanels were shifted down 10 slots. All the JML channels now sit at 641, 642, 666 and 667 respectively.
Rocks & Co. launch
On 6th September 2008, JML launched it's brand new jewellery channel, Rocks & Co. The channel broadcasts live from 3pm to midnight daily. The channel is fronted by 2 former
Gems TV presenters, Vicky Burton and Caroline Lyndsay. The channel replaced JML Lifetstyle on both Sky Digital 642 andFreesat 810.Mean while on the same day, JML Solutions was relabeled JML CookShop.
