The kibbutz was established in

Palmach members, graduates of theMikveh Israel agricultural school, members of theHaNoar HaOved VeHaLomed youth movement, and immigrants from French-speaking countries (France and North Africa) and South America.Economy
As well as agriculture, the kibbutz also has a plastics factory, "Hokuk Industries".
