- Small nucleolar RNA psi18S-1377
Small nucleolar RNA psi18S-1377 (also known as snoRNA psi28S-1377) is a
non-coding RNA (ncRNA) molecule which functions in the biogenesis (modification) of othersmall nuclear RNA s (snRNAs). This type of modifiying RNA is located in the nucleolus of theeukaryotic cell which is a major site of snRNA biogenesis. It is known as a small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) and also often referred to as a 'guide RNA'.This Drosophila specific snoRNA is a member of the H/ACA box class of snoRNA and is predicted to be responsible for guiding guiding the modification of uridines 1377 and 1279 to pseudouridine in Drosophila 18S rRNAcite journal |author=Kiss AM, Jády BE, Bertrand E, Kiss T |title=Human box H/ACA pseudouridylation guide RNA machinery |journal=Mol.
