Small nucleolar RNA R64/Z200 family

Small nucleolar RNA R64/Z200 family

This family of plant small nucleolar RNAs belong to the C/D class of snoRNA which contain the C (UGAUGA) and D (CUGA) box motifs. This family includes Arabidopsis thaliana snoRNA R64 and Oryza sativa snoRNAs Z200 and J16. Most of the members of the box C/D family function in directing site-specific 2'-O-methylation of substrate RNAs [1] .
