affiliations =WISS (1100 kHz AM) or Big Red AM 1100 is a
radio station broadcasting anoldies format. Licensed to Berlin,Wisconsin , USA, it serves central Wisconsin and the Fox Valley. It formerly operated at 1090 kHz. The station is currently owned by Hometown Broadcasting LLC (owned by Tom Boyson), which acquired the station in 1999.The station formerly ran an annual trivia contest between 1982 and 2005. The contest was the "world's longest running commercial trivia contest" before the 2006 contest was canceled.
On October 14th, 2007, WISS flipped formats. They are now playing music from the '50s and '60s, and are dedicated to providing their listeners with news updates every half hour. However, they are still using Big Red AM 1100 as their on-air branding, but have added the tagline of "Wisconsin's Full Service Station." They have added a
simulcast on 97.3 FM due to the fact that AM 1100 does not operate all day. The 97.3 simulcast is available 24 hours a day, and is in operation before, during, and after AM 1100 is on the air.ee also
