Erwin X (born Erwin Muhammed Jones) is a

Erwin Jones released his first poetry book, "Uprisin", in 1999. These compilations, and subsequent ones since, have dealt mainly with current issues and political ones in particular. His second compilation, "Ghetto Food", was released via CD and written formats in 2005 and re-released in 2007. This compilation was particularly driven by his most recognizable poem, "Life Haad Out Yah", a
protest poem lamenting the deterioration of modern Belize. Erwin X has also contributed to other poetry collections and is an original member of theBelizean Poets Society , inaugurated in March 2006. Erwin X has been named poet of the year and won several competitions for his work.Erwin X, after taking training in computer technology, opened his own graphic design studio, Xpress Designz, in Belize City on Albert Street (subsequently moved to Central American Boulevard).Community work
Erwin X is affiliated with a number of initiatives to curb violence in Belize City, particularly the group Mothers Organized for Peace, of which he is president. This group has held a number of activities highlighting the disruption crime causes to the city of 70,000 on a daily basis (Belize City has consistently recorded over 60 murders a year for much of the last decade).
He recently ran for office in Port Loyola in the 2008 elections but finished third with 122 votes.
