Katapady

Katapady is a village near the town of Udupi in Karnataka, India. It is situated at the junction where national highway NH-17 meets the roads leading to Matti(village) and Shankarapura. The village is well known for Matti Gulla ( Brinjal ) and Jasmine ( Mallige in Tulu) flowers. Its name is derived from the word "Kattu paadi" which means "Tie together" in tulu.There are all types of people living here christians,hindus and muslims.

There is a famous temple called "Sri Kalikamba Vishwakarmeshwara Temple" which is revered by people of Vishwakarma community.
