American poet Jay Hopler was born in Puerto Rico in 1970. His first collection of poems, Green Squall, was selected by

Biography
Jay Hopler is the author of a collection of poems, Green Squall, published by Yale University Press. His first book, The Killing Spirit: An Anthology of Murder for Hire, was published by Overlook Press in 1996. He holds degrees in creative writing from the Johns Hopkins Writing Seminars and the
Iowa Writers' Workshop . His awards include the Yale Younger Poets Prize, theGreat Lakes College Association Prize, and many others.References
