SM "U-68" was a German Type Mittel U
U-boat commissioned and deployed to operate off the coast of theBritish Isles and attack coastal shipping as part of theFirst Battle of the Atlantic .In a five month career, the "U-68" was unusually unsuccessful, failing to sink a single allied ship of any description. On the
