- Ambrogio Besozzi
Ambrogio Besozzi (1648-1706) was an Italian painter of the
Baroque period.He was born in
Milan where his first training was withGioseffo Danedi , "il Montalto". He is also known as "Giovanni Ambrogio Besozzi". AssistedCiro Ferri in Rome with work inquadratura and decoration. He returned to Milan, then Turin. He is buried in the church ofSanta Maria presso San Satiro in Milan. He also painted for churches ofTurin andParma . He etched two plates: "Portrait of Correggio" and "Apotheosis of a Princess" in which the portrait was by Bonacina, the other part of the plate by Besozzi; afterCesare Fiori . He died at Milan.References
