municipality and a city in the southernNetherlands .It is a member of theLangstraat ( long street ).It has small population of 50 000 and is located near the motorways A59 and N261. The villages ofCapelle , Vrijhoeve-Capelle, Sprang (the former municipality ofSprang-Capelle ) and Waspik together with the city of Waalwijk form the municipality of Waalwijk.The city has an old towncenter, which is recently modernized.Population centers

Waalwijk is a small town in North Brabant that lies between Tilburg and 's-Hertogenbosch. Waalwijk used to be very well known because of the shoe business.
Waalwijk was granted city rights in
1303 . In 2003 Waalwijk celebrated this with under the slogan 'Waalwijk 700 jaar' (Waalwijk 700 years). The professional football team RKC plays in Waalwijk.Waalwijk is also known for a famous event in the city and surroundings "de 80 van de langstraat". It's a big event in september. A few thousand people sign in for a 80 km walk trough all places that are conected to the socalled "langstraat".Saturdaynight at 21.00 you start walking and sunday you have to be in at 17.00.
