Nestor Papoutsis August 28, 1975 in Berlin, Germany) is a retired Greek professional basketball player. The son of a Greek father and a Yugoslav mother. At a height of 202 cm (6 ft. 7.5 in.) he played at the power forward position.

Pro career

He was famous for his provocative long-distance shooting (three-pointers) against set defenses and also for his very remarkable skills as a leader of a team. He changed teams after a short debut with the German League champion ALBA Berlin to the Greek League team Aris Thessaloniki. During his basketball career he played with ASV Berlin, DBV Charlottenburg, ALBA Berlin, Hellas Berlin and Olympiakos Berlin, and also with the college team of FU Berlin.

Post playing career

Despite being a successful player, he retired due to injuries, and he decided to change careers to his other passion, practicing medicine. Papoutsis earned his degree in the year 2001 at the Humboldt University of Berlin medicine school and is an active physician.
