Jean-Christophe Marine is a Belgian molecular biologist and researcher at
Ghent University (Ghent , Belgium). He is head of the VIB Laboratory of Molecular Cancer Biology. His research interest is in the identification and characterization ofcancer growth modulators, such asp53 [Laurie NA, Donovan SL, Shih CS, Zhang J, Mills N, Fuller C, Teunisse A, Lam S, Ramos Y, Mohan A, Johnson D, Wilson M, Rodriguez-Galindo C, Quarto M, Francoz S, Mendrysa SM, Guy RK, Marine JC, Jochemsen AG, Dyer MA, "Inactivation of the p53 pathway in retinoblastoma", "Nature" 61-66, 2006] .He obtained a PhD from the
University of Liège (Liège , Belgium) in 1996. He did a Postdoc at St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis,USA from 1996 until 1999 and at theEuropean Institute of Oncology (IEO) inMilan ,Italy from 2000 until 2002. He was " _fr. Chercheur Qualifié" of the FNRS,Brussels , Belgium from 2002 until 2004. He is VIB Group leader since 2004 and was EMBO "Young Investigator" in 2006.References
