Kim Sun (Chinese:劍晨) or more conveniently known as Jien Chien or Jien Chen is a character in the popular "Fung Wan" comic series. Jien Chien literally means "Sword Dawn." The "Dawn" character also rhymes with the character "god" or "shin." Nameless named him that for the reason that he wanted him to shine like the morning sun and yet not be unbearable.

Namesless's pupil

The first disciple of Mou Ming, he is the owner of the Hero Sword, and is a gentleman as well as an amazing swordsman. Mou Ming raised him from a young child to adulthood, and thus Mou Ming imparted a lot of his sword stance to him. During his childhood days, he wanted to help Bou Keng Wan learn a sword stance from Mou Ming in order to avenge his family's death. He intentionally lost to Bou Keng Wan so Mou Ming would take him as a disciple but Mou Ming didn't take him after all. Bou Keng Wan later leaves in the middle of the night. When Kim Sun was older his skills with the sword was even more than the late Sword Saint could handle.

Hero Sword - Broken

In a fight with Duan Lang the Hero Sword was snapped in two by Lang's Flame Kylin sword.

Jien Chien's fall from grace

Jien Chen at one point becomes an unwilling pawn used against his friends Bou Keng Wan and Nip Fung by Po Kuan. He rapes Chu Chu under medication and is then poisoned. He felt that he couldn't face all this and turns evil. He later tries to poison his master Mou Ming several times.

Criticism

Many fans have criticized and question the writing as to why Jien Chien became a traitor and an evil character so quickly and easily over reasons that were very small.
