Etu Uaisele (born
December 12 ,1984 ) is a Tonganrugby league player who currently plays his club football for theParramatta Eels in theAustralia nNational Rugby League competition. His position of choice is at wing.History
Etu, short for Etuate was born in
Tonga an island in the South Pacific. He later migrated toNew Zealand in 1996 where he first started his rugby career. Growing up in South Auckland,Etu attended Ferguson Intermediate in Otara, he later joinedOtahuhu College where he became one of the most talented student of the school. Uaisele has represented Auckland and Counties Manukau in the regional under 16, under 17 and under 18 tournament and was well known for his fierce tackling and running with the ball. Uaisele has also represented New Zealand in the Kiwi under 18.In 2006, Uaisele was one of the players that won the 2006 Premier League Competition for the Parramatta Rugby League Club. Uaisele has also appeared on several occasions for the
Tonga national rugby league team with his most recent international games coming during the2006 Federation Shield competition.2007: Etu stunned the Fijian National rugby league team with an intercept try within the last two minutes of the game with an intercept try giving the
Matema'a Tonga a two points lead over Fiji. Again in 2007, this is starting to be known in the Premier League division competition for his fierce tackling and try scoring ability, but with talented wingers likeJarryd Hayne (Kangaroo Rep: Australia National Rugby League Team) andKrisnan Inu (Kiwi Rep: New Zealand Rugby League Team) Etu is still yet to make it to the NRL competition.He has been named in the Tonga training squad for the
