Every year people celebrate Mukkoti Ekadasi at the year end. At the time of British period, coins were minted from this place. Kanuri Thirupathi Rao and others played vital role and fought against the neibhoring French rules at Yanam and at last they succeded in merging Yanam in India during Nehru's primeminister.
This is the only village in Thallarevu Mandal which is producing a maximum of ten engineers per an annum in our country.
