Alijo Pérez, Jr. (
March 23 ,1835 -October 19 ,1918 ) was notable as the last living survivor of theBattle of the Alamo .Biography
Pérez was the son of Juana Alsbury and her first husband Alejo Pérez, Sr. His mother
Juana Navarro Alsbury and stepfatherHorace Arlington Alsbury brought him into the Alamo when he was only seventeen days short of his first birthday. He survived the Alamo battle and lived inSan Antonio, Texas where he was employed as apoliceman . He married Antonia Rodríguez onDecember 27 ,1853 , and they had four children. He died onOctober 19 ,1918 , making him the last known survivor of the Battle of the Alamo.ources
