- George San Souci
George "Ginky" San Souci (born
8 August 1971 ) is a professional pool player fromNew York . He grew up inYorkville, New York , and started his career as a player in Chelsea Billiards. Currently, San Souci lives inAstoria, New York , with wife, Athena San Souci.Early Days
He developed the nickname "Ginky" when he was only three years old. He could not pronounce his name, and therefore, any time he was asked, he responded with "Ginky".
Professional career
In 1995, Billiards Digest named San Souci as Rookie Player of the Year.
San Souci retired back in 2002 after he injured his neck, but he could not stay away from pool, slowly making a comeback.
Today, he competes regularly in a regional tour of the New York region, the Predator Nine-ball Tour, with
Tony Robles , the 2003 BCA Open Champion, as the tournament director.His high run in
straight pool is 265 consecutive shots which occurred in 2000 at Amsterdam Billiards inNew York City .San Souci was a member of the
