Gee Street Records

Gee Street Records was a British hip hop record label run by Jon Baker and DJ Richie Rich, formed in 1990.Dubious|date=March 2008 It operated as a subsidiary of Island Records until it was acquired by V2 Records in 1996.

Shortly after the creation of the first British hip-hop label, Music of Life, Gee Street was created and brought the likes of Jungle Brothers & Queen Latifah under license to the UK to the attention of the British public with top-20 Hits and also developed its own domestic roster with acts such as DJ Richie Rich, Outlaw Posse, and Stereo MC's. It also had operations in the US with acts such as New Kingdom, Gravediggaz, P.M. Dawn, and Doug E. Fresh.
