In Greek mythology, there were several people named Anthedon.

Possible Father of Glaucus

Naiad

According to Pausanias, Anthedon may have been the naiad nymph of the town of Anthedon in Boeotia. [Pausanias, "Description of Greece" [http://www.theoi.com/Text/Pausanias9A.html 9.22.5] .]

The USS Anthedon, a submarine tender ship of the United States Navy, was named after this mythological figure with seagoing associations.
