Langdale Estate

Langdale Estate

The Langdale Estate is an area in the town of Dunstable, Bedfordshire, England. It is situated to the south-west of the town centre, and comprises what is considered to be the wealthier area of Dunstable. The roads in this area are mostly named after areas in the Lake District.

Roads and Landmarks

The area is home to Queensbury School. To the extreme north of the estate is Bennett's Recreation Ground, colloquially referred to in the town as "Bennett's Rec". The estate also includes the affluent Bull Pond Lane and is home to a popular parade of shops on Langdale Road.

The exact roads which make up the Langdale Estate are considered to be Langdale Road, Langdale Close, Hillyfields, Brampton Rise, Crosby Close, Easedale Close, Patterdale Close, Bull Pond Lane and Furness Avenue to the south; and Appleby Gardens, Windermere Close, First Avenue, Penrith Avenue, Ennerdale Avenue, Grasmere Close, Keswick Close and Osborne Road to the south. To the west of the Langdale area, it is often considered that part of Canesworde Road, along with Hurlock Close, Ulverston Road, Bowland Crescent, Morland Close, Ullswater Road, Cartmel Drive, Tarnside Close, Hilton Avenue, Staveley Road and Kirkstone Drive are also part of the estate, but most residents would argue that only those areas inside the Langdale Road, Bullpond Lane and First Avenue borders should be considered to be part of the estate.
