Phonetic search technology

Phonetic search technology

Phonetic Search Technology (PST) is a method of speech recognition developed by Nexidia. An audio signal of speech is broken down into series of phonemes, which can be used to identify words.A string of six phonemes for example, “_B _IY _T _UW _B _IY,” represent the acronym “B2B”.

Nexidia are looking to integrate PST to work in conjunction with Google's ad serving program, AdSense, by breaking down words found in video/audio streams phonetically, converting them into a text queries and sending off that query to Google's Ad Server where it parses it and locates relevant ads related to it, and delivering contextually relevant advertisements accordingly. As a video plays it is possible for the adverts to update dynamically to match what is being said in video.
