Bishop Byrne High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Memphis, Tennessee. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Memphis.

Background

Bishop Byrne was established in 1965 to serve students in the south Memphis area. It is named after Bishop Thomas Sebastian Byrne, Bishop of the Nashville Diocese in the early 1900's. cite web|url=http://www.bishopbyrne.org/history/|title=Bishop Byrne High School History|accessdate=2007-05-11|author=BBHS] Bishop Byrne students come from a large area across Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas. Eleven children from the James family of West Memphis, Arkansas graduated from Bishop Byrne over a 20 year period. The mascot for the school is the Red Knight.
